Dear friend,

Today is Human Rights Day, and I want to invite you to celebrate it with me by exploring the new website of Donor Direct Action and learning more about this visionary organization that is working around the world to promote the rights of women. Donor Direct Action supports strong front line women's rights activists with funding and visibility.

There is no other organization I trust more for global women's rights than Donor Direct Action. I am proud to serve as its Co-Convener with Navi Pillay, my friend from South Africa and the former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.  In 2011, Jessica Neuwirth came to us with this idea to support the global women's movement directly, minimizing bureaucracy and maximizing impact.

Donor Direct Action regrants 90% of every donation to the front line group you want your contribution to support. We know these groups personally, and I want to highlight the critical importance of their work. Your donations literally save lives.

The universality of the ways women's lives have been impacted by COVID-19 is striking - Donor Direct Action's partners in Afghanistan, the Congo, Nepal, Peru, Somalia and other countries are working to combat domestic violence, sex trafficking, female genital mutilation and other forms of gender based violence and discrimination. And they are daily addressing the enormous caregiving needs created by this global pandemic.

In nine years, Donor Direct Action has regranted almost $4 million to front line women's rights groups in over twenty countries that are bringing us all closer to equality. These funds have been given to us from just 1700 individual donors. Imagine what we could do if we had 17 million donors instead of just 17 hundred?  You can be a visionary donor who sees that these women are the future and joins me in working together with them and supporting them.

This Human Rights Day, donate to Donor Direct Action and join our global circle of solidarity.

 With hope and friendship,
