Afghanistan Update

These past few weeks have brought a stream of increasingly alarming news from Afghanistan. We are continuing to watch developments closely and have been in touch with our partner whose staff remain in Kabul.
While we despair over the rollback of rights for women and girls in Afghanistan, what gives us hope is the profound courage and strength of Afghan women who continue to stand up for their rights even in the face of repressive violence and such great risk to their lives. In this spirit, please watch this video from the September 6 Kabul March. Despite the threats and harassment by the Taliban, women are determined not to be treated as second class citizens. We stand with them and are committed to do everything we can to support them.
