In 2024, Our Grantees Achieved Critical Victories

- The Gambia: GAMCOTRAP’s tireless advocacy ensured the landmark ban on FGM remains intact, protecting countless girls.
- Lebanon: KAFA advanced women’s roles in peace-building through a groundbreaking roundtable on reconciliation amidst conflict.
- Afghanistan: Afghan women leaders, supported by Meryl Streep and the Women’s Forum on Afghanistan, addressed the UN alongside the Secretary-General, urging global action.
- Peru: Manuela Ramos painted Peru in green for reproductive rights to commemorate International Safe Abortion Day, challenging recent restrictive laws endangering women’s lives.
In 2024, We Launched Two New Funds
- The Fund to End Gender-Based Violence: Addressing the root causes of gender-based violence and supporting survivors in recovery and their efforts to seek justice.
- The Women’s Peace and Security Fund: Amplifying women’s leadership in conflict zones to end sexual violence and build sustainable peace.

In 2024, We Celebrated and Advanced Global Advocacy
- Frontline Women’s Fund celebrated Gloria Steinem’s 90th birthday with an inspiring event that blended a lighthearted roast with reflections from activists, grantees, and donors, raising critical funds for the Gloria Steinem Equality Fund to End Sex Trafficking.
- We also partnered with African Women Rights Advocates and Equality Now to host a gathering in Nairobi of activists from across Africa to strengthen advocacy, share strategies, and promote legal reforms to end female genital mutilation (FGM), building on the work of our Efua Dorkenoo Fund to End FGM.
