Women's Rights Under The Law

How we are Seeking Justice for women

Across the world, the women’s movement has used the law in its efforts to confront gender-based violence and discrimination. Since the Beijing Platform for Action was adopted in 1995, front line women’s rights activists have actively and consistently called for the enactment and implementation of laws and policies that guarantee women equality and prohibit gender-based violence and discrimination. The law is a critical component of social justice. We currently support four front line partners who focus on strengthening and/or implementing laws to protect women’s rights in Afghanistan, Nepal, Palestine and Peru.
