Emergency Fund for Ukrainian People in Need

March 11, 2022 | Donor Direct Action

Dear friends,

On February 24th Russia began a full-scale military invasion of its neighboring country, Ukraine. Since then, we have seen daily images depicting the devastating cost of war. Many Ukrainians have fled their homes seeking refuge in nearby countries. For Ukrainians unable to flee, lack of medical supplies, shelter, food, and water, as well as physical security, is a daily concern.

Our partner in Latvia, Marta Centre, is working with local organizations to raise funds for emergency assistance and medical supplies to the victims of this war. Marta Centre is also providing support services to Ukrainian refugees in Latvia, which has already welcomed thousands of Ukrainians across their border. What we can do, any and all of us, is to support the people of Ukraine in any way we can, especially the women and children who are more vulnerable and suffer disproportionately during conflict.

For this reason we have created an Emergency Fund for Ukraine - through Marta Centre in Latvia, all funds raised will go directly to support Ukrainians in this crisis, both inside the country and in neighboring countries. With help from Marta Centre and its East European women's network of contacts in and near Ukraine, we can be sure that your contributions have the greatest impact and the money gets most quickly where it is most needed.

100% of all donations will go to the Ukrainian people in need of aid. You can save lives.

Sincerely,

Jessica Neuwirth
Director
